Today’s Summer Learning was very fun and creative because our task was to take photos of bugs around your house or yard. I found this task very interesting because I found out the different types of creatures or insects that were in my house and yard.
The insects that I found around my house and lawn were months, roly poly bugs, crickets and lastly a ladybug. There were way more than just four insects but I decided to pick these four because I thought that these four were my favourite.
Something that I learnt while doing this Summer Learning Journey task was that the Atlas Moth is the biggest moth holding up to eleven inches ( 30 cm ).

Kia ora Cattaleya,
It’s Mrs Stone from the Summer Learning Journey commenting team. I am just allocating the final points of the official SLJ in terms of certificates/ prizes. Ka pai for completing several activities over the holidays.
Ka pai for identifying these four favourite bugs. Did you know, by identifying the type of bug you are actually working as a scientist? Biologists classify animals, looking at their features such as number of legs, markings, wings etc. It is also great to hear you sharing a fun fact that you learnt while completing the activity.
While this will be the last official comment from our team, I do encourage you to keep blogging before you return to school. I know Mr Johnston has been very busy reading all of the blog posts at Panmure Bridge!
Keep up the great work; we hope to see you again in December for the next SLJ!
Ka kite,
Mrs Stone
Kia Ora Mrs Stone, Thank you for the amazing comment that you have said. I actually did not know that by identifying the type of bug that I am working as a scientist.
I will absolutely do my best to keep on blogging. Again thank you for the amazing comment.
