On May the 29th, Kapa Haka performed at the Teacher Only Day. We had to arrive at school at 8:00 AM to get ready, put on our kapa haka clothes, and get our moko stamped on our faces. After a quick warm-up, we left the changing rooms and performed at 9:00 AM.
We had practised for this day for a long time, and we finally got to put all that hard work into action! We performed the items Tāmaki E, Tui, Matariki, as well as the haka and a karakia. At the end, we formed a pathway to welcome our guests in. So many of them commented on how good our performance was. In my own opinion I think that we did a very good job at performing these songs.
