For reading, Group 2 read a text called ‘Shameful stain on NZ history’: Polynesian Panthers push for dawn raids apology and were given the provocation – Should the Government of today(2021) apologise for the dawn raids of yesterday (1970s)? We were challenged to create a DLO that explores and discusses both perspectives of this historical event in our groups. Me and my partner used our smart searching skills to learn and find stuff about the dawn raids, which lead us to do why the government should apologies and why not our own opinion. For our own opinion we should perspective A (yes, the government of today should have apologized for the darn raids of yesterday) because if they didn’t apologies there would hate and harassment going towards them, and which have already hurt a lot of families etc. Something I found interesting about this text was that families and people have been going through a lot but when they apologized people forgave the government and started a new generation for those.
